Sand and water

We have been pretend cooking for many days, finding random bits of nature or "treasure" and mixing them with water, mud, and sand to make soup.

"Oh no there is no water"

"Just add a little in here okay sweetie?"

After some cooking, the play changed and the children began building rivers and lakes in the sand. Some children used a wooden watermelon to float down their river to test if there was enough water.

When the water ran out more cooking started with the sticky sand. I was fed many flavours of cookies and cake; vanilla, rainbow, chocolate, banana, and yucky...

"Yucky cake? Why is it yucky?"

"Because silly! It's made out sand!"
