A little visit
A child from the I/T room came to visit today as he will be moving into our room in a few weeks. The children were all interested in meeting him. At one point we all watched as a Bobcat got loaded onto the back of a truck.
One child went over to the new child and passed him a piece of grass she had pulled, the new child looked at it smiled and looked at her giving her a big smile. Excitedly she ran over to me "Mrs.Thiele he likes me!"

Let us wrap
This week for our garden snack challenge we made "make your own lettuce wraps". Each child got to add ham, cheese and Caesar dressing to a big leaf of lettuce, then roll it up to make the wrap.
"I love them, I ate 5!"

Shady Ground Zero
Since the sun was so hot today, we opened up Ground Zero so everyone could play in the shade. Here are some really fun photos from our time on the play structure.
Water Balloons!
PS2 was very kind today and let us join in on a water balloon activity they had planned. At first we played a game of hot potato pass, the children all laughed when the water balloons made big splashes on the grass.

Kale chips
Thursday's are our set day to create a garden snack. When the children who did not nap and I went to our garden we noticed that our kale box was overflowing with kale, so we decided to make something with our kale.
Now I thought to myself what can we make with kale that the children will actually enjoy...
Kale chips!
First step:
Second step:
Rinse the kale, then lay it out to dry.
Third step:
Rip the kale into small pieces, removing the stems.
Fourth step:
Spray oil on baking sheets and lay out the kale.
Fifth step:
Spread vegetable oil over the top of kale.
Sixth step:
Lightly season the kale with salt.
Seventh step: let it bake in the oven at 300 degrees for twenty minutes.
Last step: be amazed as you watch your children eat and enjoy vegetables 😉
