Fun with Laces 😊

It was a nice time to play with laces and ribbons in the back field. We were excited to bring out our laces which we had tied to sticks in the classroom. There were lots of smiles as the children swung their laces.
After a while some children imagined that their laces gave them magic powers.
"I have snow power! Yours is grass power."
"No... Mine is not grass power... It is wind power!"
"But wind is not green..." (Referring to the green lace)
"That's okay.... Whoosh"
"I need my ribbon"
"Yours can have fire power"
"Yeah! Fire! Fire! Fire!"
Then off the three children ran into the bush where from a distance I could hear...
"Freeze!"
"Fire! Fire!"
"Woosh"

Rain, rain

Rain, rain go away...... Wait!
That's not right.... Rain can be fun and these resilient children won't let a little rain and wind ruin their fun.

We went to the far field, the first thing we all noticed was an awesome deep mud puddle!
"My boots are gone!"
"The big stick made a big splash!"

Some children began to notice some trees were leaning way over. When they asked me why the trees were falling over I asked the question back to them.
"Maybe the wind blew them"
"Maybe they're hurt"
"I think a giant stepped on them"

Then 2 children worked together to overturn a large rock. Excitedly they invited the other children to see what they found, soon everyone was involved in searching for worms.
"I've got lots"
"They tickle my hand"
"Mine is fat"
At the lunch table Mrs.Thiele asked us where all the worms we were eating for lunch went. After a few groans and giggles one child replied. "Mrs.Thiele we are not birds"

Playing on the monkey bars

Today we saw a great thing. One of our XP friends using the monkey bars with out help and his friends cheering him and supporting him! It was so great to see the encouragement from his friends and his perseverance to make it to the end of the monkey bars!

😍Rainbows and Balloons😍

The children were continually drawing rainbows. They used their creativeness to show off their own unique styles in making their own rainbow designs. They were all proud of their masterpieces!

Mrs. Cruz used the colourful balloons at story time to represent each child in our Christian Preschool Room. She told us that just like the balloons we are amazing on our own but that together we are even better like a beautiful rainbow. We learned that we as a class we are like a family and we should show love, respect and kindness to each other.

                                                        "My rainbow!"
"Our balloons look like rainbow too!"

"Look!"

Today we started the day outside right at 7:30am. This gave us lots of time to explore and discover.
Some children noticed there was something covering our trees and other objects in our playground...

"Caterpillars!"
Some children wanted to hold them while others felt more comfortable watching.
"Those caterpillars kill the trees!"
"It tickles!"
"I'm dreaming about caterpillars when I close my eyes"
And then we had some caterpillar races before lunch to celebrate with our new found friends.

More bubbles!

Blowing bubbles is a skill that takes a lot of patience to learn... But it sure feels good when you master it.
